Burned!

Published under Conversations on March 31, 2008

*Rhiannon is at the hotel, heading downstairs to continue helping tear down a local charity event. She sees Myles, a fellow helper, carrying a stack of boxes up  the stairs. The boxes take up the entire width of the staircase*

*She pauses, and then decides to go down, and then decides to go up.*

Rhiannon: Uh oh, you’re gonna kill me . . .

*She stands by the top of the stairwell while Myles brings up the boxes*

Myles: You’re the psychic, you tell me.

Blessings,

Rhiannon

Public announcements? Those are definitely not me, but I’ve been doing some research and I found out you know, Canada doesn’t have a metaphysical organization, at least well there IS one in BC, but it’s for religious purposes, and we should all know by now, I’m spiritual, not religious!

Anyhow, that being said, Canada also does not have a Canadian Metaphysical School. So I took the liberty of finding out what steps one needs to take to have a school in Canada. Yep. I called our great government, and found out some important information.

1) The Government has a by-law that allows only big Universities and Colleges to issue Degrees. I have no idea why, but they do.

2) The Government doesn’t really recognize ANY form of education as good or bad. In other words, the public school system is about as far as they go. If you’re going to University, or College or Community College, Career College, Private Vocational Institution, they really don’t support any of them or say that one is better over the other. They also don’t give any guarantees that any post secondary education will get you a job in the long run.

3) For some vocations there’s a Private Vocational Institutions Act, but if you’re part of it or not part of it you’re not supposed to advertise, and only specific industries are required to be registered with them.

4) Thus far there are no accrediting agencies for school in Canada. You can have absolutely no credentials, open a school and start teaching people how to pick their nose if you want to. We don’t have anything like AADP, or AAMA, but the US has 6 Educational Accrediting Agencies.
So with all of that being said, I’ve decided to open my own school and my own foundation in Canada!

The foundation is obviously the Canadian Metaphysical Foundation, and the school is the Canadian Institute of Metaphysical Theology.

I’ll be offering a few programs, a Diploma Program in Metaphysical Theology, Science of Intuition program, and a bunch of other courses I currently have tucked away in my computer folders and haven’t shaken the dust off in awhile.

:)

The school will be a full service website, allowing students to login to their account, enroll for courses, view the forums, write in a private journal, upload their assignments, view their grades, and request their certificates/diplomas! It’s such a cool program I have for it, we’re just waiting on my web designer to install it and create a custom template for it!

Now, moving onto the next news, the Canadian Metaphysical Foundation is my answer to the question: WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT ETHICS AND STANDARDS IN THE METAPHYSICAL COMMUNITY?

Seriously people, both clients and fellow readers reading this, I have had a lot of crazy requests lately, and I think it’s about time we implement some basic ethics and standards for people working in the metaphysical field. Why Canadian? Because I’m Canadian, but the CMF is not limited to Canadian practitioners, nor is it limited to just practitioners. ANYONE CAN JOIN. If they support the ethics and standards we outline in our constitution, they can join.

Now, will we do certification? Yes. There are plenty of foundations out there doing certification for metaphysical practitioners, you’ve got the Association of Certified Psychics, the World Metaphysical Organization, the Tarot Certification Board of America, and others. Right now there isn’t a Canadian component, but there are plenty out there that will certify you as a spiritual advisor, tarot master, metaphysical practitioner, or psychic. The CMF will certify one as a Metaphysical Practitioner and there will be a set of guidelines for being certified. Yeah we’re not just certifying anyone, there will be a test, people will be graded, and there will be additional components (like having taken a course or having worked in the professional field for a certain amount of time.)

The details are still a little fuzzy but the site should be up and running soon enough, and then you too will be able to learn, grow, and join the revolution of Metaphysics. I mean come on, Psychology did it, Chiropractors did it, and even Massage Therapists and Holistic Practitioners can do it. There’s a place for Metaphysics in the professional world, we just need to let them know what we can do, and let the world know we can do it right!

Blessings,

Rhiannon
