Sapphyre: Mommy mommy, it’s time to get up, it’s a beautiful day!

Mommy: Ugh, need sleep . . .

Sapphyre: No mommy, I made breakfast!

Mommy: *jumps out of bed* Uh oh, where is it!?

Sapphyre: Come, it’s right here. *leads mommy into the kitchen*

Mommy: *looks at the peanut butter sandwiches on the table*  . . . . wow uh . . . let’s put away the rest of the peanut butter.

Sapphyre: Mommy, daddy needs ice.

Mommy: What do you mean, no he’s got ice in his drink.

Sapphyre: No, daddy needs ice.

Mommy: Do you want a drink?

Sapphyre: No

Mommy: Okay well go play then *Mommy walks away*

Sapphyre: Here you go Daddy I’ll get you ice for your boo boo.

*Mommy watches Sapphyre go in her lunch box and get the pack of ice to put on Daddy’s bruised leg.*

Childcare Chaos

Being a working mom and a psychic at the same time doesn’t work. Okay, well it did for a really long time until the sun came out and the summer got hot, and outside was sooooo tempting that my kids got cabin fever!

So I decided all the frenzy of a solar eclipse, new moon in Virgo that I needed to work smarter not harder, and let my kids have the chance to play outside, without also shooting myself in the foot by not being able to work.

So, I sought out a babysitter. This had been on my mind for quite some time now, but I was on waiting lists at day care, unsure about home day cares, and didn’t want to pay a nanny $10/hr to be home with ME and the kids . . .

But it was last Sunday that really did it for me. I had bought the kids a treat, viva puffs for later, and I’ve been in the process of training my oldest Sapphyre.

Well, while I was in session, she managed to poop herself, and upon telling her mid session quite quickly to go and clean herself up, which I felt she went and tried to do, I didn’t realize what a collosal mess she had made. My reading ended, and I turned around to find a massive mess. Sapphyre had given Jade the Viva Puffs, THE WHOLE BOX, and Jade was both covered head to toe in sticky marshmallow along with the floor covered in it and in raspberry jam from the centers.

I probably should have stopped there but Sapphyre started screaming at me from the bathroom . . . oh the horror! I went in to find her ATTEMPTING to clean up herself, but she had managed to get herself covered head to toe in poop, along with the toilet seat massed in it, toilet paper all over the place massed in it, and lots on the floor and walls too.

That was when I decided come hell or high water I would hire a nanny, babysitter, SOMEONE.

Monday went well, I had my regular sitter come during the day to care for the kids for a few hours, take them to the park, etc. It worked okay.

But on Tuesday she got sick, called me, and then later texted me and blamed me for giving her food poisoning . . . all she ate were hot dogs, and the kids had them too. So she quit, which was funny because I would have fired her anyways.

I was frantic though that my plan wasn’t working and Weds was my birthday (August 6th, if curious minds want to know) and so I wanted to enjoy my birthday and the plan was to have someone look after the kids while my friend and I went out. I managed to get ahold of my second sitter, that’s right, never have only one, and I had 2 that would switch off, and she said she could take them, over at her place.

Weds came along, I dropped the kids off, and was about to go and see my friend when she calls me frantic and in a frenzy saying she’s on her way to the hospital with her sister who collapsed. I felt bad for her, and told her to call me later when things got settled. Of course, I also didn’t know what to do with myself, and didn’t want to work on my birthday so I just went home and sat around for hours doing nothing, not wanting to bother people and such.

Thursday the kids went over to Tara’s again, and my husband got his wisdom tooth removed. He was home all day instead of at work and I got my work done, but it was just . . . an interesting day again. He spent the afternoon first sitting in pain with icepacks and then began deep cleaning the house.

Then of course I got a phone call from the day care center I’ve been on the waiting list for for 4 YEARS, and they finally had a space for Sapphyre! Unfortunately no spaces for Jade. So I was happy this could work! I went to pick up the kids and had to tell Tara though that Sapphyre got a spot and that I’d need her for Jade only now.

Then Friday was my parent orientation with the center, Jade and Sapphyre went to Tara’s again and I worked in the afternoon, but literally everything in a week has gone topsy turvy and upsidedown! At least I know it’s all for the best and that the universe did its part in helping me transit through this tough issue in my life.

But that’s all for my news, I was going to buy myself a birthday cake but you know, seems kind of moot to do it now . . .

Blessings,

Rhiannon
